Geeta Shalok Recitation Competition

Vivekanand Kendra Jammu organized Geeta Shalok Recitation Competition to mark ‘Geeta Jaynati Samaroh’ at SNS Vidya Mandir School on 18 Dec 2018.
Sh. Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor JMC , was the Chief Guest for the function. Sh. Piran Ditta, President All J & K Sh. Guru Ravidas Sabha was the Guest of Honour, Sh. Rajender Kakkar presided over the function. Other digniteries present were Sh. S.K. Jain Yoga Guru, Centre University of Jammu. Dr. O.P. Gupta, Sh. Gyan Ji, Sh. Puneet Mahajan, Sh. O.P. Gupta, Sh. Harbans Lal, Sh. Sham Lal Sharma, Sh. Surjeet singh Chib, Sh. K.S. Sambyal, Sh. Dinesh Mahajan, Sh. Jagdish Raj Gupta, Sh. Darshan Lal, Astt. Manager DBN Trust and Ms. Puneet Kaur, Principal SNS Vidya Mandir. The programme started with lighting of ceremonial lamp by all the dignitaries and bouquet presentation by Vivekanand Trust to the Chief Guest, Guest of Honor and Presiding guest.
The Jayanti samaroh started with brief description about the programme and chanting of “OM Mantra” by Dr. O.P. Gupta, Manager Vivekanand Trust J & K.
Then the student of SNS Vidya Mandir school presented a welcome song. After that all the participants of Geeta Shalok Competition recited the Shaloks in their melodious voice with their meaning in hindi as well as english.
Later Group of girl students of SNS vidya mandir presented a beautiful classical dance which was based on Maharbarata and was applaud by all. Speaking on the occasion Chief Guest Sh. Chander Mohan Gupta stressed upon imbibing the knowledge of Geeta by all, he also exhorted upon the students to keep their surroundings clean and make Jammu a clean and Green City. The winners and other participants were given prizes by the Vivekananda Trust. Manya of DBN AV bagged first prize, Vrinda of DBN MM got second and Tanya of DBN SNS won third prize. Sweets were distributed among the students. Event was closed by Sh. O.P. Gupta with chanting of “ Kalyan Mantra” The programme ended with vote of thanks by Principal Ms Puneet Kaur and National anthem.
